Days like this are why I miss her

I don't know how I managed to forget this part of our day while I was retelling the story this morning.

On the way home after the party, before I dropped Darcie off at my Dad's in Wheatland, we stopped at Target. I needed to get some candy and things for Easter baskets and I thought Darcie could entertain the boys while I took care that.

We stopped at the snack bar and got popcorn and waters for the boys. Then Darcie took them back to the electronics department to play video games. I went on to the Easter section and enjoyed not having to answer when some child screamed, "MOM!". It was heaven on earth. Once I finished I took the bag to the car (to hide the evidence, we still believe in the Easter bunny - see the discussion about Santa in December).

I came back in the store and headed back to find Darcie and the boys. I found them playing the Playstation display, actually Noah was playing it, Ashton was whining and Darcie was ignoring them. She saw me and quickly said, "We have to go! I'm pretty sure Dillon pooped his pants and the guy that works here keeps looking at me like I am the biggest piece of white trash. Here I am pregnant with 3 little kids and I bring them to Target and buy them popcorn and let them play their video games. We have to leave."

It's comments like this that make me miss her!
